Zdenek Peter Hochmann, beloved father, grandfather, and friend to many died peacefully on Friday, November 15, 2024, at the age of 78. He was born on March 5, 1946, in Unicov, Czech Republic.

Son of the late Josef Hochmann and Aurelia Hochmannova. Peter was known for his dedication to his work and his unwavering commitment to his family. His life was one marked by hard work, kindness, and a deep love for those around him.

Peter’s professional journey began in the 1970s when he worked at Gretna Machine Iron Works, where he spent many years perfecting his craft. In the 1990s, he transitioned to Trinity Yachts, where he continued his work until his well-deserved retirement. Throughout his career, Peter was recognized as an exceptional handyman, always taking pride in his work, and going above and beyond to ensure the job was done right.

Outside of work, Peter was known for his generosity and his willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need. Whether it was helping a neighbor with a project or assisting a friend, Peter’s selflessness was felt by all who knew him. His family was the center of his world, and he cherished the time spent together, especially during the holidays.

Peter is survived by his two children, Sarka Hochmann Usey, and Camilla Hochmann Ponson (Travis); four grandchildren, Sarah and Trey Usey, and Hunter and Emily Ponson; one brother, Pavel Hochmann (Jana), and two sisters, Jitka Cinklova and Yvetta Havlova.

A celebration of life will be held at the family home where friends and family will come together to honor and remember Peter’s legacy.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance and/or the American Cancer Society.

Peter’s legacy of hard work, love, and kindness will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
