Yvonne Malbrough Jones

Yvonne Malbrough Jones, Age 80, of Marrero, Louisiana, passed away on January 31, 2023.

Yvonne was born on August 26, 1942 to Etienne Malbrough and Hilda Mary Malbrough in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Yvonne graduated from Immaculata High School in 1960 as valedictorian.   She started her first job at the Federal Reserve Bank in New Orleans, where she retired 31 years later.

Upon retirement, Yvonne enjoyed gardening, spending time with her friends and family, and shopping.    An avid animal lover, Yvonne looked after numerous neighborhood pets.  

Her gardens of Easter Lilies, caladiums, and amaryllis were the envy of all! 

She was preceded by her brother Lynn, her sister Mary Jane, and her parents Etienne and Hilda Malbrough.

She is survived by her sister Shirley Malbrough Alleman, Brady Alleman, John & Janice Malbrough, her nieces Dana Hernandez, Sherri Spinelli, Dawn Carroll, great niece Blythe Hernandez and great nephews Casey Spinelli, and Zachery Carroll.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held at a later date;  details will be forthcoming.

Yvonne was a breast cancer survivor;  in lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Breast Cancer Foundation or Humane Society.
