Winston Perdomo

Winston Franklin Perdomo passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021. After several months of declining health, Winston died peacefully in his home with his family by his side. Winston was born on February 18, 1942, in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, to Manuel Antonio Perdomo and Victoria Acosta Perdomo. At a very young age and not speaking a word of English, Winston was sent to live with his aunt, Lalita Perdomo Tenney, in New Orleans, Louisiana, after his parents’ passing. In his own words, Winston said he thought he had landed in “Disneyland” upon his arrival in the U.S. From that point on, he
proclaimed the Crescent City as his home. Winston spent his youth growing up on Napoleon Avenue and proudly graduated from De La Salle High School. He served as a medical corpsman in the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1968 and eventually earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1970. He had a long-standing, successful career in the medical sales industry. Winston was an avid lover of music and dancing, collecting antiques, riding motorcycles and horses, and of course watching LSU and Saints football. Winston also loved having
a good time, making people laugh, and being silly with his children and grandchildren. Most importantly, he was a man of deep faith who devoted his life in his later years to loving and serving our Lord Jesus Christ. New Zion Baptist Church provided many years of great joy in his life, and Winston felt very blessed to be part of such a faith-filled community. Winston is survived by beloved wife of 33 years, Brenda Lafont Perdomo; his former spouse, Gwen Leblanc Perdomo; his children, Troy Perdomo, Toni Perdomo Mouton, Tia Perdomo Turner, Ivy Robichaux III, and Lori Perdomo Dawson; his sons-in-law,
Onezieme Mouton, Trent Turner, and Alex Dawson; and daughter-in-law Thea Robichaux; his grandchildren, Julianne Broussard, Lucas Turner, Oni Mouton, Elliot Turner, Zyler Robichaux, Ivy Robichaux IV, and Remy Dawson; his great-granddaughter Max Broussard. He is preceded in death by his parents, his Tia Lalita who raised him, and his beloved brother Ellis Perdomo. The funeral service will be held at New Zion Baptist Church, 17387 New Zion Church Road, Covington, Louisiana 70435 on Saturday, June 19, 2021. A visitation will be held from 10:00-10:45 am before the service, which will begin at 11:00. The family will be there to welcome friends and relatives. A reception will follow in the church reception hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Wounded Warrior Project, St. Tammany Parish Hospital Hospice, or New Zion Baptist Church.
