Willo Marvin Schech, Sr., 94, of Covington passed away peacefully at home with his wife and family by his side on Tuesday, May 26, 2020. He was born on September 9,1925, in Bush, Louisiana.
Willo is survived by his loving wife of more than 72 years, Dolores Monlezun Schech. He was the loving father of 7 children: Willo Marvin, Jr. (Jenefer); Kathryn S. Soulier; Carolyn S. Rolling (Earl): Theresa S. Day (Bill); Alicia S. Vincent (Robert); April S. Foret (Tim); Mary S. Spell (Todd).
He is also survived by his 21 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his parents Arthur Weeser Schech and Annie Galloway Schech and his brothers Oswald C. and Arthur V. Schech.
Willo was an Army veteran serving in Germany in World War II and a truly outstanding member of the Greatest Generation. Together with Dolores, they created and operated Schech’s Taxi Service successfully for 65 years. He was a lifetime member of St. Peter Catholic Church and a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Assembly 3061.
He was a devoted husband who loved Dolores passionately and completely. He was a humble Christian man who cherished his family.
Truly, he will be missed by all.
Services will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church on Jefferson Avenue, Covington, Louisiana on Friday, May 29, 2020. Visitation starts at 11:00 a.m. followed by Mass at noon.
Interment will follow at Garden of Pines Mausoleum, North Columbia Street in Covington, Louisiana.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church Building Fund.
