Clif passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2015, at the age of 46. He was born in New Orleans on December 15, 1968. He is survived by his parents Michie McHardy Bissell (Tom) and Edwin A. Stoutz, Jr., his siblings Catherine Henderson (Kenny), McHardy (Mary) and Taaffe. He is also survived by his daughter Emma and her mother Ashley, and his former wife and dear friend Jillaine Stoutz, and nieces and nephews Liam, his godchild Mac, Sarah Cate Richie, Kade Henderson, Reily Stoutz,: his uncle James McHardy (Kris) and aunt Mary Claire Dean (Chuck) and cousins of Cleveland, MS.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Claire Michie and Dr. William C. McHardy, Jr., and uncle William C. McHardy, III. of Cleveland MS.; his paternal grandparents Isabelle Taaffe and Edwin A. Stoutz of New Orleans.
Clif attended Holy Name of Jesus School, graduated from St. Matin’s Episcopal High School in 1987, University of Alabama, and received a Juris Doctorate from Loyola University Law School. While at St. Martin’s he lettered in track and football and was quarterback and co-captain of the football team. Upon being admitted to the bar Clif entered into private practice with his father. He practiced criminal defense law and loved the courtroom! Clif also cherished his many friends and clients who became friends.
A Mass celebrating Clif’s life will be held on Thursday, December 17 at Our Lady of Guadeloupe Shrine of St. Jude, 400 N. Rampart Street, at 2 pm, with visitation beginning at 12:30. Following the service there will be a Second Line to St. Philip Street with The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Rebirth Brass Band, and the Andrews family.
