Welton Antione LeBlanc

Welton A LeBlanc, 90, of Bush, Louisiana, passed away peacefully in his home on January 9th , 2024. Welton was born on May 20th , 1933, to Pierre and Alice LeBlanc, in Morganza, Louisiana.

Welton meet his loving wife Lorraine and married on December 9 th , 1956. Welton and Lorraine went on the have seven children, Emma Tatum (Daniel), Perry LeBlanc, Terry Walker, Rose Marie LeBlanc, Patricia Dowda, Hazel Panarello, and Luke LeBlanc (Amy).
He proudly served for 26 years in the United States Army where he was a paratrooper with the 82 nd an 101 st Airborne Divisions. He advanced in rank over the years and retired in 1980 as a Master Sergeant with the 5th Infantry Division - Inspector General’s Office. During his years in Service, he served 2 combat tours in Vietnam and tours to Germany, Iceland, and South Korea.

After his retirement from the Army, he moved to Bush where he spent several years doing construction and few years as an apartment complex maintenance man. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, planting vegetable gardens, mowing his grass, piddling in his shed, and dominating his kids and grandkids in cards. He was an amazing cook and specialized in Saturday
morning pancakes and homemade biscuits and tomato gravy. Welton cherished every minute spent with his family and friends, but he especially adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Welton is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Rose Marie, 3 brothers, 5 sisters, grandson, Jonathon, father and mother-in-law, 3 brothers-in-laws, and 2 daughters-in-law. He is survived by his wife, 6 children, 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 1 sister, 2 brothers- in-law, 1 sister-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Sharp Chapel Church of God on Saturday, January 13th, 2024. Visitation for family and friends will start at 10 a.m. with the funeral service starting at 12pm. Graveside service will follow at the Sharp Chapel Church of God cemetery.
