Virginia "Jenny" Marie Myrick

Virginia “Jenny” Marie Myrick, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed into eternal peace on October 18, 2023, at the age of 78, with her loving daughters by her side.

Born April 4, 1945, Jenny spent her childhood in Laurel, Mississippi, with her brother and four sisters. As the granddaughter of a Pentecostal pastor, Jenny developed a deep and abiding faith.

After marrying the love of her life, Jerry Myrick, who predeceased her in 2008, the couple relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana, where they would bring up their two daughters, and build a beautiful life together. Her greatest accomplishment was her family and the beautiful life they shared. She was generous with her love and hugs with those who were a part of her heart and met every declaration of love with "love you more". 

Jenny was a devoted wife, mother, and beloved grandmother to her five grandchildren. Her daughters and grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished her relationship with her lifelong best friend and sister-in-law Debbie Myrick. 

Her survivors include her daughters Lesa McCrea (Malcolm), Lyn Durnell (Keith), and her five grandchildren, Miranda Lewis, Braeden Lewis, Savannah Lewis, Maddox Durnell, and Addison Durnell. 

Her daughters wish to express their gratitude to the remarkable staff of Avanti Memory Care in Covington, Louisiana, and Passages Hospice for their amazing care and devotion to their mother in her last days.
