Victor Prudencio Alfaro, beloved father and husband, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2016 at his home in Covington, La. He was 86 years old. Victor was born in El Salvador on July 28, 1930 to Victor Manuel and Carlota Alfaro. He was educated at the Military School of El Salvador, and upon graduation, became a commissioned officer in the Air Force of El Salvador. He later became a pilot with Taca Airlines for over 25 years, and had the honor and privilege of meeting and piloting Pope John Paul II in 1983. Later in his career, he became an airline inspector until his retirement. Victor is survived by his wife of 59 years, Alicia Margarita Castillo of San Antonio, TX, his five children, Victor Orlando and Okcha Alfaro of Huntsville, AL, Carlos and Shelly Alfaro of Titusville, FL, Anabel and David Hundt of Covington, LA, Ricardo and Kathy Alfaro of Port St. Lucie, FL, Laura and Greg Swank of Covington, LA, and seven grandchildren, Jenifer, Victor Orlando Jr., Christina, Jonathan, Jaime, Kelsey and Taylor. As well as five great-grandchildren. We will all miss his bright and friendly smile, calm demeanor, and generosity. Memorial services will be held at Bagnell & Son Funeral Home 75212 Lee Rd., Covington, LA 70435 on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 2:00 PM. Visitation from 1:00 PM until service time.
