Thomas Hand Sr.

Thomas “Tommy” Charles Hand, Sr. passed away at the age of 66 on Friday, March 18, 2022.  He was preceded in death by his father James Hand Sr. and mother Teresa Hand, brother Ronald Hand (Jo), and his beloved son, Tommy Hand Jr. Tommy leaves behind his wife, Melissa Gleason, and his children Kelly Hand Massa (Emanuel), Kenney Hand, and daughter-in-law, Christine Hand (Tommy Jr.).  He was the son-in-law of Doris Wheeler, and also leaves behind several brothers and sisters, including James Hand Jr. (Lynne), Teresa Hoefeld (Ronnie), Terry Hand (Ursula), Mary Hand, and Patty Suffern (Ed). Tommy was the brother-in-law of Sheri and Kenny Rodgers and is survived by numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, along with his grandkids, Avery, Aubrey, and Andrew Massa, and Roman, Kennedy, and Brett Hand. Tommy was a graduate of Loyola University and spent several years working as a loan officer at Fidelity bank before retiring. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He was also quite the pool player, and played in a weekly pool league. Everyone that knew Tommy knew what a kind, gentle soul he was. Thomas Hand Sr. will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at St. Jane de Chantal located at 72040 Maple St. Abita Springs, La 70420 on Friday, March 25, 2022. Visitation will begin at 10am with a Mass starting at 12pm. Interment will be private.
