On Wednesday, May 16, 2018, Terry LaBorde, Sr., husband of forty-six years to Debby Lessard LaBorde, went to his eternal rest. Father of Terry (Julia), Brian (Dana), and Jason (Danielle). Proud grandfather of Meghan Heisser (Greg), Ethan Guffey (Courtney), Mallory LaBorde (John), Jackson LaBorde, Madilyn Guffey, and Ava Dyer, and one precious great-granddaughter, Mary Grace Heisser. Brother of Curtis and sister of Caryn Morgan and the late Steven, Sr. and Hubert LaBorde, Jr as well as uncle to a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Vesta Knecht and Hubert LaBorde, Sr. Among Terry’s multitude of beloved friends are his buddy Carl Fehrenbach and his lifetime partner in crime, Kenny Cato. Terry proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy from 1967-1971 with assignments on the U.S.S. Yosemite and the U.S.S. Hartley. Throughout his journey in life, Terry was a man with the ability to bring his visions to fruition both personally and professionally. He was a mentor at home and in the workplace and through many of hours and years of sweat and devotion, he laid the foundation for the successful business that is Standard Glass and Mirror of New Orleans today. Even through the realization of his dreams, he never lost sight of his love or responsibility to what mattered most in his life, his family and his friends. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Monday, May 21, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jane de Chantal Catholic Church, 72040 Maple Street, Abita Springs, LA . Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Coastal Conservation Association to assist in the preservation of the Gulf Coast where Terry enjoyed fishing, boating, and living with family and friends.
