Terry "Tike" Barger

Terry "Tike" Barger, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on February 15, 2025, in Covington, Louisiana, at the age of 65. Born on January 5, 1960, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Tike lived life filled with joy, love, and a deep appreciation for family and friends.

Tike was devoted to his wife, Barbara Gaffney Barger, and cherished his children: Angela Barger, Joshua Barger, Jacob Barger, Brent Barger, and Brandon Barger. He took immense pride in being a grandfather to eleven grandchildren, embracing every moment shared with them and creating lasting memories as “Uncle Tike” to many nieces and nephews. His warmth and kindness will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Throughout his life, Tike enjoyed various hobbies and interests that brought him great happiness. He had a passion for hunting and fishing, often spending weekends outdoors with family and friends. The laughter and camaraderie of crawfish boils became a staple of his gatherings, where he firmly believed in the importance of community and connection.

Tike is survived by his loving family, including his brothers Ronnie Barger, Jimmy Barger, and Joseph Barger, and daughters-in-law Angie, EmiLee, and Emily, who all remember him fondly and are heartened by the legacy of love he leaves behind. He is also preceded in death by his father, Roy Lee Barger, mother, Edna Mae Lee, and sisters-in-law Susie and Zenaide, who have all welcomed him into their eternal rest.

The family invites friends and acquaintances to pay their respects during the visitation on February 24, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by the funeral service commencing at 4:00 PM, held at Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, located at 75212 Hwy 437, Covington, LA 70435.

Tike's memory will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who loved him, and his joyful spirit will undoubtedly live on in the stories shared by family and friends.
