Tate Pellegrin

Tate Douglas Pellegrin blessed us with his presence on August 26, 1995.  He left us on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022. It is believed that to go to God on a high holiday day is a sign of the goodness of the soul.  He was truly a beautiful soul with a huge heart.  He loved big!  Tate’s smile lit up the room and those big blue eyes could charm anyone. A friend once said Tate’s mission on this Earth was to bring joy and happiness, and, boy, did he succeed.  Tate never met a stranger.  He would help anyone, any way he could.  He lived his life without fear, because he knew his Mama worried enough for the both of them.  Tate thought he was ten feet tall and bulletproof and had the heart of a warrior. His favorite thing was tearing it up in the woods. He loved the water, music, his guns, and making people laugh. He had a fantastic sense of style and was definitely feeling himself when he got dressed up and he knew he looked good.  But most of all Tate loved his family and friends.

Tate leaves behind his Lego buddy and legacy, son Adam Pellegrin (Stacie Smith).  His better half Christalyn Delouise, his daughters by love, Kylie, McKensey and Cassidy Ferrell will miss him very much.  Thank you girls for making him a dance dad!  His Mom and hero, Mindy Lemons Pellegrin (John Nette) and his Dad and supporter Doug Pellegrin (Kelly Mittenzwei Tournier) celebrate their amazing son. His brothers and sisters Bella, Aidan, Emma and Blaine Pellegrin, Brennan and Mallory Tournier. His maternal Grandparents, Marilyn and Greg Lemons (Nan & Pops).  He is predeceased by his paternal Grandparents Johnny Pellegrin (Hilda) and Margaret Kern. He will be missed by his Aunts and Uncles, Lanie Lemons (Michael Harrity), Joseph and Angel, CJ and Shelly, Andy and Jennifer, and Jeffrey Pellegrin, his cousins, and all of his great Aunts and Uncles, and his furry boy Leo.

During his battle Tate added people to his family.  He would want to thank Dr Saux (fist bump), Sydney, Kelly (big hugs) and the way too many to name staff at Northshore Oncology who helped on his journey. We can’t forget the nurses at Mary Bird Perkins who made him laugh during chemo, you know who you are! A huge thank you to the staff who were so kind and patient during radiation.  Last, but not least, the nurses at St Tammany Parish Hospital, they showed him so much love and support. Tate considered you all part of his family and he truly appreciated everything you all did to help with his fight. Thanks Fam!

Tate will be truly missed by the people he touched.  Fly high and keep tearing it up and burning those tires! This is not goodbye, but until we see you again!

Tate’s Services will be held at Bagnell Funeral Home, 75212 Lee Rd, Covington, LA 70435 on Monday, April 25th. Visitation 10-12, Service begins at Noon, with interment to follow at Abita Springs Cemetery at 1pm.  For all of those who loved and adored Tate please come dressed in whatever you feel, the brighter the better.  This is a celebration of his life!

In lieu of flowers, Tate asked that any donations be made to the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Covington, La.
