Sybil Newcomb

Sybil Mae LeBlanc Newcomb (90) born September 17, 1927 died at her home on July 1, 2018. Mrs. Newcomb is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clarence Price Newcomb Jr., mother Velina Gaudin LeBlanc, father Charles Cecil LeBlanc, step-mother Beatrice LeBlanc and her brothers Carl LeBlanc and Heman LeBlanc. Sybil is survived by her children Mark Newcomb (Kathy), Dana Newcomb (Rhonda), Beth Becker (Kenny), Wendy Summers (Asa), her brother Adrian LeBlanc Sr.  her sister Madge LeBlanc Kollatt (Frank), and sister -in-law Joanna LeBlanc. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Leo Bourgeois (Miwa), Kerri Newcomb (Danielle), Melanie Donley (Chris), Kurt Newcomb, Christopher Newcomb (Anissa), and her great grandchildren Kai Newcomb, Madison Dodge, Britton and Adelynn Bueche, Harrison and Christian Donley, and Kole and Riley Rothman, and   numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Newcomb was a surgical nurse trained and employed at Hotel Dieu where she once scrubbed for Dr. Oschner himself. She also worked for the VA Hospital where she cared for a patient, Clarence Newcomb to who she married. She devoted the next sixty-seven years to him and her family. She was an excellent seamstress, an amazing cook, had a beautiful voice and always kept her house immaculate. She was never idle, never wasteful and always thought of what she could do for others. She loved gardening and flowers especially yellow roses. She took great pride in assisting her beloved Clarence in keeping their ten acres manicured beautifully. A Celebration of life will be held at 21504 Maryetta Road Bush, Louisiana, on Saturday, July 7 2018 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 p.m. Interment will be at Lakelawn Cemetery in New Orleans on Monday July 9, 2018 at 2:30 pm.
