Stanley  Albert  Greig  passed away on January 21, 2017 at the age of 88.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janice Barrett Greig, and his parents, Stanislas E. Greig, and Myrtle Mynier Greig.  He is survived by his son, David Gerard Greig (Lisa Erickson), grandchildren David Louis and Cecelia Marie, of Ocean Springs, MS.  He is also survived by his wife, Lydianne Stahel Barousse Greig, and her children Susan Barousse Gordon (Stephen), Lydia Barousse (Daniel Garbarino), Robert J. Barousse (Melody) Matthew S. Barousse (Mary Patrice) and her 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  Stan was born and raised in New Orleans. He graduated from St. Aloysius High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.  He spent most of his career in the beverage industry while residing in Jackson, MS for 33 years. He then relocated to Covington, LA upon his retirement and marriage.  He was an avid golfer and sports fan. He was delighted that the New Orleans Saints won Super Bowl XLIV and that the Chicago Cubs won the World Series in 2016. Stan was a member of the Colonial Country Club in Jackson, MS and the Tchefuncta Country Club in Covington, LA.  The family would like to thank the caregivers at Notre Dame Hospice.  A mass of Christian burial will be held at St.  Peter Catholic Church, 125 East 19th Avenue, Covington, LA on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.  Visitation will begin at 12 noon.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Pennies for Bread, St. Joseph’s Abbey, 75376 River Road, St. Benedict, LA 70457.    To view and sign the family guest book please visit WWW.bagnellfuneralhome.com.
