They welcomed three boys—Stan, Jr., Jordan, and Jacobi. We look forward to seeing Jordan, along with his father Stan Sr., in the paradise to come. Stanford leaves to cherish his memories, his eldest sister Lisa Offner- James (Ben), his eldest brother Lawrence Offner, III(Carla), Kirby Offner (Cheryl), Karilyn Duncan (Anthony) and his youngest sister Shannon Duncan (Troy). He also leaves two aunts and one uncle, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and a vast of spiritual brothers and sisters to cherish his memories. Preceded in death was his loving parents Lawrence Offner Jr. (Blockie) and Lois Offner, his paternal grandparents, maternal grandparents. Aunts and uncles and his sister Marilyn Offner-Bass and nephew Jimmie McDonald.
Stanford had many nicknames “Mr. Big Stuff” (because when he was born, he was huge with rosy cheeks), Stan, Stan the Man, and Shug. He was a very inquisitive kid who always wanted to know how things worked. His interests as a child were music, breakdancing, drawing cars and robotic characters, fishing (although he did not eat seafood), and hunting with his brother. Stan later became interested in body building and installing music sound equipment into cars. He worked laying concrete with his dad, installed wood flooring, bartended, and catered at a local hotel, couriered for Quest Diagnostics, and lastly worked at Cleco as a meter reader, line technician and plant technician.
Stan continued in his love of music. He played the drums, keyboard, electric guitar, and also taught himself to play the bass guitar. He played in a local band, and the highlight of his musical career was playing with the zydeco band at three venues during the 2014 international convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Additionally, he loved singing and would sing at parties when coaxed.
Stan loved his family—wife, children mother, father, brothers and sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and his immense spiritual family! He loved Jehovah and served as a ministerial servant. He believed in Jehovah’s promises of paradise and the resurrection.
Two of his favorite Kingdom Hall songs were #8 ”Jehovah is our Refuge” and #146 ” Making All Things New”.
