Shirley Dyer Maitrejean

Shirley Mary Dyer Maitrejean passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 at the age of 89. She was also known as Momma, Ma, Grandma and Nan. She was born in the Irish Channel of New Orleans and later moved to Gretna, LA. After her husband John Wallace Maitrejean passed in 1998, she moved to Mandeville, LA to live with her daughter Michelle. She is preceded in death by her Father George Gerald Dyer, Sr. and Mother Aimee Estelle Ulmer, her sister Earline Theresa Dyer Maitrejean, two brothers George Gerald Dyer, Jr. and Merlin David Dyer. She is survived by three daughters Marilyn Coker (Wayne), Michelle Simon (John), Andrea Maynard (David) and one son Johnny Maitrejean (Claire). She is also survived by four grandchildren (Darin Coker, Brian Coker, Megan Simon, and Ashley Simon), two great grandchildren (Cody Coker and Emily Coker).  Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, 75212 Lee Rd., Covington, LA 70435. Visitation from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment in Eternal Rest Cemetery, adjacent to the Funeral Home.
