Sheila Hoffman McLain, 70, a resident of Lee Road community of Covington, Louisiana, went to her heavenly home on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2022. She is survived by David Pannell and family of Myrtle Beach, SC, Sherry Pannell Mims of Florence, SC, Joshua Jones and family of Covington, LA and Donald McLain and family of Covington, LA. Born on November 3, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan, she was primarily raised in Miami, Florida, by her parents Leo and Estelle Hoffman, both deceased, and with her surviving siblings, Madelline Hoffman Kane and Steven Hoffman, residents of Stuart, Florida, and Zephyrhills, Florida, respectively. After graduating high school, she moved to North Carolina, eventually settling in Covington, Louisiana, working as a dietician in the food service and health care industry. She loved her family, gardening, travelling, painting, building, creating, cooking, and, especially, hugging. As announced on her Facebook page, celebration will be held at Shepard’s Care Ministries Church, Barkers Corner in North Covington, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 12pm to 1pm on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, for visitation with a service to follow immediately after.
