Sharon Becker Couture

Sharon Becker Couture passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 28, 2023. She was  preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Douglas. P. Couture, her parents Erick Clifton Becker  and Lelia Molere Becker, her sister Jean Becker Pendergast, her brother-in-law Paul Persigo and her  step-granddaughter, Bridget Melerine. She is survived by her companion, Philip A. Hollard, her sister  Judith Becker Persigo, her brother-in-law Harold Pendergast Jr. and her three children Michael L.  Kahrs, Jr. (Tamela), Gretchen Kahrs Kraft (Todd), Kelly Kahrs (Sam) and stepdaughter Kim Melerine  (Allen). She is also survived by her grandchildren Sarah Kahrs (Zachary), Abigail Kahrs (Brett), Robyn  Kraft, Kayla Stutts (DJ), Quinn Stutts and great children Emilee Trosclair, Caroline Dufrene, Cole  Bodenheimer and Asialyn Singletion. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and  cousins.  

Sharon was born in New Orleans on September 29, 1949, and was a 1967 graduate of Francis T.  Nicholls High School. Sharon spent much of her life serving the citizens of lower St. Bernard Parish  (Yscloskey) where she owned and operated Sharon's Discount Store for over 30 years. After retiring  she relocated to Picayune, MS where she enjoyed spending time with her family, researching her  family genealogy and sewing. She will be missed by all who knew her.  

Sharon's legacy will be remembered and celebrated during a celebration of life that will be held in her  honor. Details about the celebration of life will be announced at a later date due to the holidays.
