Russell Rizzo

Russell R. Rizzo, 75, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones on April 19, 2017. Russell was born in Utica, NY and was raised in Oneida, NY by his parents Jerry Rizzo and Mary Rizzo Tripoli. He spent 23 years in the U.S. Air Force where he lived in amazing places such as Hawaii, Germany, Japan, and Spain. He proudly served our country in Vietnam as well. Upon retirement from USAF, he worked on the B1B bomber in California with Boeing and at Stennis. He was a member and served in the Sons of Italy in Slidell. In the midst of all of this, he earned his Doctorate and became “Dr. Rizzo”.He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary; father, Jerry; and brother, Gerald. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie, sons, Jeff and Alan, daughters Christine (Rick) and Michelle. He has 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.Russell enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family near and far. He took great joy in his time spent with his dog T-Bone.
