Roy Nicholson, Jr.

Roy W. Nicholson Jr. passed from this earth to heaven on Monday, December 14th, 2020 at the age of 72.  He passed away very peacefully in Covington, LA surrounded by family.  He was born in Texas City, TX on June 24, 1948.  He was preceded in death by his father Roy W Nicholson Sr.  Roy is survived by Barbara Nicholson, his wife of 30 years, his mother Iris Nicholson, son and daughter-in-law Joshua and Elizabeth Nicholson, daughter Joy Bourgeois, daughter and son-in-law Ginny and Mitch McNatt, son and daughter-in-law Scott and Vienna Brewer, brother and sister-in-law John and Sharon Nicholson, and sister and brother-in-law Lee  and Tim Hall.  Roy was the grandfather of 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.  He deeply loved God, his family, and his friends.  He was a true American Patriot exhibiting a genuine servant’s spirit in all of his relationships.  He loved sailing and boats with a passion for the sea and everything nautical.  He was a highly intelligent and motivated man who was loved by his wife, his church, and his children, with a great sense of humor, fun, and adventure.  His accomplishments are too numerous to name:

Member of the Slidell Symphony orchestra
President of the Race Track Chaplaincy of America (RTCA)

He was a tremendous asset to his family, church, and community and was a member of Reach Community church in Mandeville, LA.  He was also actively engaged in outreach ministries.  Roy will be missed by all…
