Ronald J. Pennison, Jr., a retired Cab driver passed away on March 7, 2020 at the age of 68. Born in New Orleans and a resident of Terrytown for the past 24 years. He was a driver/owner with the United Cab Company fleet #1219 for many years. He cherished his employ in the Jazz tent for the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival for 36 years. He loved working for the 1984 Louisiana Worlds Fair as well as his time tending bar at the Bacchus Lounge where he was known as “Big Ron” to his many friends. Ron was passionate about fishing, and crabbing. He was one of the early members of the Krewe of Dreux and crowned King XI. Also was a Veteran of the United States Navy. Ron is preceded in death by his mother, Vera Tooley Pennison and father Ronald J. Pennison, Sr. He is survived by his sister, Janice P. Wallace (John) and brother Rex E. Pennison as well as his nephew, niece, two great nieces and great nephew. Family and friends are invited to attend a Second line Burial in the St. Louisiana Cemetery No. 3 at 3421 Esplanade Ave. New Orleans, Louisiana on Friday, November 6, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.
