Ronald “Ronnie, Ron” Joseph Navarro, Sr. was called home by our heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at the age of 76.
Ronald was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to Roland and Rose Mary Navarro. The family later moved to Meraux, Louisiana where the family grew and it became home for many years.
Ronald attended Holy Cross High and graduated in the class of 1965. He then went onto LSU. During the Vietnam War, Ronald was drafted. He was a very proud Veteran of the US Army, 1st Batt., 33rd Artillery and was stationed in Ansbach, Germany. Ronald was later Honorably discharged in February, 1972. Ronald was very well known for being a Skilled Architectural Cabinet Maker. Some of his work was seen in Architectural Digest. He later retired after nearly 50 years of owning and operating Old Tyme Millworks.
Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, Roland Navarro, Rose Mary Navarro, grandparents, Anthony (Tony) Navarro, Gertrude (Dear) Navarro, Joseph (Joe) Scardino and Mary Scardino, as well as his loving nephew, Joseph (Joe) Navarro.
Ronald leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Catherine D’Antoni Navarro. He was blessed with four children, Cherelle Meche (Jeff), Ronald J. Navarro, Jr. (Kristi), Carey Caye (His Padna Duane) and Cady Mandella (Ricky). He also leaves behind his youngest loving brother, Roland (Greg) Navarro (Susie), favorite and loving cousin Trudy Dowell. Two longtime, devoted, friends, Andrew Lyons, Levan Levron and all of his loving fur babies Chevy, Lovey and Krazy Kraut. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Tuesday January 30, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lourdes Catholic Church with visitation at 10:00 a.m.
