Roland Este passed away peacefully on January 19, 2019 in Hammond, LA at the age of 74. Roland was born in Westwego, LA. He is preceded in death by his parents Nolan Este and Joy Rouselle Este. Roland is survived by his wife of 53 years Gail Taravella Este, his children; Randy Este (Karen), Shelly Tabor (Steve), his siblings; Rodney Este (Annette), Leonard “Tiny” Este, his grandchildren; Brandon Este, Randy Este, Jr., Jamie Este, Storm Tabor, Seth Tabor, his great granddaughter Baileigh Este as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Roland passed away due to Leiomyosarcoma, a muscular cancer. He worked for Fred “Butch”: J. Arcement, his best friend since elementary school for over 40 plus years. After his retirement he moved to Amite, LA. to fulfill his love of the outdoor country living of raising his chickens and sitting by his pond. Roland loved get togethers and cookouts with his family and friends. We would like to thank family and friends that came to visit him when he was no longer able to get out. A special thanks to New Century Hospice and the staff as well as The Richard Murphy Hospice House and staff for their care in time of need. A very special thanks to Darick Selders for his heartfelt singing during Roland’s stay at The Richard Murphy Hospice House. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the Harvey Volunteer Fire Station 639 Maple Ave. Harvey, LA. 70058 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Richard Murphy Hospice House 1109 S. Chestnut St. Hammond, LA. 70408.
