Robert “Bob” P. Delatte, 89, native of New Orleans and long time Northshore resident, passed away Friday, December 1, 2023.
Bob was born to Robert Charles Delatte and Dorothea Boudreaux Delatte on August 27, 1934. He lived a long full life enjoying being with family, hunting, socializing and letting everyone know when they were getting fat. He was proud to have been a member of the Boy Scouts Troop 21 of New Orleans and to have served terms as President of the Jefferson Rod & Gun Club, the St. Tammany Parish Fair and the Covington Lions Club. He retired from Chevron after 31 years and then Walmart years later. Countless people enjoyed visiting “Mr. Walmart” in the garden center.
Robert is survived by his wife Carolyn Craddock Delatte, his children Lue Grantham, Scott Delatte, Julie Davenport and Jordan Delatte; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and sister Elizabeth Gingell. He is preceded in death by his children Tammy Chatellier, Bobby Delatte and Brian Delatte; sister Dorothy Gassen and parents
Family and Friends are invited to a Funeral Service in the Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home 75212 Highway 437 (Lee Rd) Covington, LA 70435 on Tuesday December 5, 2023. A vistation will be held at 9:00 am with the Funeral Service to start at 11:30 am. Burial will take place immediatly following services at Mandeville City Cemetery.
