On Tuesday, January 11, 2022 Richard Paul Poret, a 46-yr old Covington resident, walked through the gates of Heaven. He was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents, Herman and Rita Poret, his Maternal Grandparents, Richard, Edna and Nellie Zebert, his Father, Robert David Poret, Step-father, Gerard J. Hobden and brother-in-law, Quentin F Carthen (Rebekah). Richard is survived by his Mother, Eileen Zebert Poret Hobden, his siblings Lora Poret Matherne (Tim), David Poret (Collene), twin sister, Rebekah Poret Carthen (Quentin) and Dennis Poret. Richard will continue to live on through his wonderful children, Hevyn Kergosien (Pierce), Braelyn Faye (Jacob Johnson), Payton Faye (Chris Caccioppo), Seth Poret (Ambyr Stipelcovich) and Allyson Poret (Lain Smith) his Precious Grandsons, Mikal, Nathan, Patton, “One On the Way, Baby J”, his Sweetheart, April Swaggerty as well as several nephews, his niece and many cousins, aunts and uncles that he adored.
Throughout his life, Richard worked in the restaurant and sales industries, did construction work, and maritime dock work until a disabling accident 20 years ago. Since then, he has enjoyed being a dad, loving on and playing with the grandbabies, working in his yard, spending time with loved ones and friends, chilling around a bonfire, attending concerts, listening to music and fixing up his “Knight Rider” Truck.
Family and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bagnell and Son Funeral Home, 75212 Hwy 437, (Lee Rd) with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
