Richard Hitt

Richard Edgar Hitt, age 86, died on July 5, 2022 at his home in Covington, LA after a battle with Multiple
Myeloma Cancer. He was born on June 27, 1936 in Dallas, TX to his late parents, Edd and Vernetta Hitt.
He was the loving husband of June Hitt for 56 years and the adoring father of Robin Hill and Carole
Callaghan. Richard is also survived by four grandchildren: Anna Hill, Jack Hill, Emily Callaghan, & David
Callaghan. His siblings include: Stanley Hitt, brother, and Judy Langdale, late sister. He served in the U.S.
Army & Army Reserves for 8 years. He worked 26 years as Executive Director of various Mental Health
Associations and 10 years for the Slidell Police Dept in administration. He was also an officer in the
Slidell Police Reserves.
