Raymond Burdette Phillips, Jr. passed away on July 4, 2016 at the age of 84. Raymond was born in Rockeville Centre, NY to the late Raymond and Gladys Phillips. He is survived by his children Karen (Larry) Bucksbarg, Richard (Ann) Phillips, Stephen (Michele) Phillips and David Phillips; Grandchildren: Kelli (Tim) Burbach, Stephen Phillips, Kristi Bucksbarg, Shawn (Alison) Phillips, Ryan Phillips, Theresa and Mary Phillips (daughters of Jennifer Shea Phillips); great-grandchildren Olivia Burbach and Colton Phillips. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Joyce Friedel Phillips. Raymond Phillips was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, a chief draftsman in the oil industry, and also served 55 years as a reserve police officer for the Jefferson Parish Sherriff’s Office and with the Gretna Police Department. A favorite past time was spent in his boat fishing. He leaves behind many dear friends and relatives. A graveside service will be held on Monday July 18, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., at Greenwood Cemetery, 5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans LA on Osier Walk. In lieu of flowers, Masses or donations may be made to the charity of your choosing.
