Ramona spent many years volunteering at Roquette Lodge in Mandeville where she lived. Along with her husband, Jack, she was a Lector and Eucharistic Minister for Sunday masses at Roquette. Ramona had a committed devotion to Jesus thru his Blessed Mother. She led many residents to the sacraments and to a personal relationship with Our Lord. She was active in Come Lord Jesus, Patriotic Rosary Groups, and Bible studies. Ramona could often be found in Adoration to the Blessed Sacrament. The grandkids often thought she had a “direct line” to God and would ask for her to pray for them!
Ramona lived for Fridays - her hair appointment with her daughter, Anita and the lunch date with her kids.
The family would like to thank her daughter/our sister, Joanne Hymel, for generously caring for our mom steadily for the past three years.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation in the St. Joseph Abbey Church at 1pm, Mass at 2pm and following burial on the Abbey grounds. The walk from the church to the cemetery is a distance and comfortable shoes are suggested.
