It is with great sadness that the family of Philip W. Jenkins announces his passing after complications of bypass surgery at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington, Louisiana, on Friday, April 6, 2018, at the age of 74 years. He was surrounded by his loving family. Philip was a native of Covington and a resident of Loranger for 20 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 53 years, Diane, and his children, Ricky (Fran), James (Brenda), and Phyllis (Vince) Ibos. Philip will also be deeply missed by his five grandchildren, Carly (Hunter) Hollrah, Cameron Jenkins , Devin Jenkins, Lindsey Jenkins, and Emilee Ibos, his great grandchild, Duke Hollrah, his sisters, Shirley (Ronnie) Vaughn, Dottie Galladora, Barbara (Robert) Polezcek, Anita (Jerry) Leonard, and Ruth (Jack) Ussery, his brother-in-law Howard Hardy, and many nieces and nephews. Philip was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Dorothy (Rogers) Jenkins, his sister Geneva Jenkins and Geraldine Hardy.
Philip was retired from Trinity Marine and had a love for fishing and hunting. He could sit and listen to a pack of dogs run all night long and he knew exactly which bark and howl belonged to him. Oh how we will miss this so! His “elder” coffee buddies will miss him forever. Until we see you again, we love you and miss you already.
