Philip (Phil) Mire Fleming, age 68, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. He is survived by his adoring wife, Sherrie, daughters Lauren Fleming Wesley (Brian) and Kim Fleming Wilson (Josh), son Philip Domm Fleming, stepson Clinton Dawson Durrett, brothers John Fleming (Louise) and Mark Fleming (Regina), and sister Sharon Fleming Cooke (Pete).He is also survived by his grandchildren Madelyn Wilson, Abigail Wilson, Sean Wesley and Eli Wesley. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Fleming, Sr. and Doris Fleming, and brother Robert Fleming, Jr. Phil was born in New Orleans on July 11, 1953. He was a 1972 graduate of Holy Cross High School, where he was a co-captain of the Tigers football team. He attended Louisiana State University and went on to have a successful career in the construction industry as General Manager/President of Lee Tractor until 2015. He retired in 2021. Phil was a dedicated husband, loving father and grandfather, caring brother and great friend. He was a devout Catholic and a Brother Knight with the Knights of Columbus, volunteering his time and efforts to the Our Lady of the Lake Fair, Christmas programs for needy families, and Lenten fish fries. He was an usher and greeter at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church. Phil loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He loved all things LSU…football, basketball, baseball, and, of course, he loved his New Orleans Saints. Phil enjoyed weekend golf and the occasional fishing trips with his buddies. More than anything, Phil loved grilling on the patio with his family and friends. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Friday, April 29, at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, 312 Lafitte Street in Mandeville. Funeral Mass will follow. A private burial will be held at a later date
