Philip Andrew “Andy” Aasen, a resident of Angie, Louisiana, passed away on July 10, 2024 at the age of 69.
At the age of 17 he joined the Navy and handled bombs and explosives on fighter jets until he was medically discharged. When he was medically able, he began working at the Unites States Post Office.
He was born on January 25, 1955 in Bogalusa, Louisiana to the late Arnold Herman Aasen and Gladney June Dailey Aasen Holden.
Philip leaves behind to cherish his loving memories, his sister Sally Aasen, step son Justin, previous wife Katherine (Katie) Mathews Smith and step grandchildren.
Philip is preceded in death by his parents Arnold Herman Aasen and Gladney June Dailey Aasen Holden, his loving wife Cauline Elizabeth Shipp, as well as his oldest sister, Sharon (Sheri) Aasen.
He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors hunting, fishing, cooking and grilling, rebuilding mechanical items like lawn mowers and other items. He also enjoyed engaging in political discussions, storytelling and generally, “chewing the fat.”
Family and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Memorial with Military Honors on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. in the Louisiana Veterans Cemetery 34888 Grantham College Dr., Slidell, Louisiana 70460.
