Peggy Lavin Schaefer

Peggy Lavin Schaefer, a resident of Folsom, Louisiana, joined her Heavenly Father on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at the age of 71 after a hard-fought battle against cancer.  She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on November 01, 1951 to the late James William Lavin Sr. and Gladys Hammant Lavin. She grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana with her two late siblings James Lavin Jr. and Charles Lavin.

Devoted wife and companion to the late Philip Joseph Schaefer III, she is survived by three sons, Philip Joseph Schaefer IV, Terry Paul Schaefer Sr. and Paul David Schaefer; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends.

Peggy loved her husband and family sacrificially and was a generous soul. She was a successful senior banking executive, loved tending “God’s garden,” creating precious memories through hosting gatherings for family and friends, and creating beauty through home decor, crafts, do-it-yourself projects, baking and cooking.  She will be cherished and sadly missed by all who knew her.

At her request, no memorial service will be held.
