Patsy J Sandifer

March 2, 1944 — February 26, 2024

Patsy Jones Sandifer, age 79, passed away on February 26, 2024, at Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with her husband Verdon (Tom) Sandifer by her side.

She was born on March 2, 1944 to Virgil  F. and Troy Jenkins Jones.

After Patsy graduated from Enon High School in 1962, she married Verdon (Tom) Sandifer and moved to Montrose, Colorado. A few years later they moved to Folsom, Louisiana. In 1964, Patsy started working for South Central Bell and after a short time she was promoted to Operators Manager. Patsy retired from the telephone company in 1983. In 1988, Patsy moved with her family to Stuarts Draft, Virginia and then in 1990 the family moved to Tulare, California. She wanted to try something new, so she studied hard and became a licensed real estate agent. At the end of 1991, the family moved back to Folsom, Louisiana. Once again, she wanted to try something new, so she became a phlebotomist and worked for the Blood Center in Hammond, Covington, and Franklinton.

In her free time, she loved to quilt and sew. She loved to cook and was famous for her Peanut Butter Fudge. She also loved to work outside tending to her flowers and plants. She was humble and kind with the most beautiful smile. She always made the best of every situation and would extend a helping hand to anyone in need. She was the strongest person we have ever known and she will be forever our hero.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Patsy leaves behind to cherish her loving memories, her husband of 61 years Verdon (Tom) Sandifer, her children Ronald Keith Sandifer and Kelley Regina Sandifer, her grandchildren Keith Bruce Sandifer, Cheyenne Yvonne Sheane and Trey Tyler Sheane and her great grandchildren Zachary Sandifer and Darren Sandifer, her half brother Roy Jones, as well as many nieces and nephews, and two very special people that she held close to her heart.

Patsy is preceded in death by her daughter Jennifer Sandifer, her mother Troy Jenkins Jones, father and step-mother Virgil F. and Edna P. Jones, sisters Judy J. Smith and Sandra J. Hunt, grandparents Horace and Vinnie S. Jones and Fred and Maude G. Jenkins and her grandson Evan C. Sandifer.
