Patrick Kevin Cougevan

Patrick K. Cougevan died peacefully at home from Metastatic Melanoma on October 28, 2024.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Andrea (Andi), his daughter, Hope Stokes, Step-daughter, Sara Gayle Summer McConnell (Scott), step-grandchildren Billy and Leland McConnell, Brothers Mike and Dan Cougevan, niece Jennifer Cougevan, many many cousins and his beloved cats, Bella and Bingo. 

He was predeceased by his parents William and Dorothy (Dottie) Cougevan.

Pat graduated from Christ the King, Jesuit, and UNO. He began his varied careers teaching in New Orleans public schools while supplementing his pay working in restaurants. Through the years, restaurants were always a lure and he worked in some of the best. 

Pat died the day before he would have celebrated 25 years of sobriety in Alcoholics Anonymous where he met his beloved Andi. They were married on April Fools’ Day, 2002 and embarked on a marriage of mutual appreciation and the desire to be of service in their AA community. 

The family would like to thank that AA community, family, friends, neighbors and work colleagues whose love, prayers and sustenance made Pat’s final months more tolerable.

And we are grateful to Bella and Bingo for the daily cat scans.

Pat’s final message is to plead with you all to wear sunscreen, reapply it often and go to the dermatologist once a year.

In lieu of flowers, please donate in Pat’s name to Big Sky CARES, 82060 LA-25, Folsom, LA 70437 or the charity of your choice. Visitation will start at 10 am, Saturday, November 9 at Bagnell Funeral Home 75212 Lee Rd, Covington. The celebration of Pat’s life begins at 11.
