On September 18, 2023, Our Lord called his faithful servant, Patricia ("Patty") P. Alker, home.
She was seventy-seven (77) years young. Patty was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, on August 30, 1946. She grew up in Seattle Washington, and graduated from Mercer Island High School before moving to New Orleans in 1963. She attended UNO and Tulane. She met the love of her life, Paul R. Alker, Jr. ('Paul"), and they married in 1964, a marriage that would last 59 years until the time of her death. Patty spent much of her life serving others, having served as a pre-school teacher, summer camp head, CO organizer, and President of the St. Christopher Parish School Board. She and Paul moved to Covington, Louisiana, in 2001, where she resided until her death.
Patty's favorite hobbies were traveling, skiing, cooking and spending every spare minute with family and her friends, including the Clydesdales, and her beloved rescue dog, Boudreaux.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents, James Lyle Piercey and Myrna Lowe Piercey, and her sister, Marsha Piercey Johnston. She is survived by her loving husband, Paul, her sister, Carol Piercey Wagner, children, James Kevin Alker (Peggy Jo Jones Alker) and Michael Brett Alker (Pamela Parker Alker), four grandchildren, Stephan Laine Alker (Emily Nickens Alker), Morgan Jones Alker, Ethan Anthony Garnett and Mason Paul Alker. She was also the loving great-grandmother to Nicholas Paul Alker and Tristan Michael Alker.
Patty left an enduring mark on this world and those that loved her. She will be forever missed.
