Norma Cheryl “Dinky” Smith passed away on September 12, 2016. Cheryl was a lifelong resident of Covington, La. She was born in Bogalusa, La on April 1, 1949. She was the second child of John Everett Drinkard (deceased) and Clare Cooper Drinkard. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred V. “Allie” Smith III and loving mother of three sons Bradford Allen, Scott Everett and Todd Stephen Smith. Mother in law to Amy, Pauline and Catherine. Adoring grandmother to nine grandchildren and great grandmother to five great grandchildren. She is survived by brothers and sisters Ellen D. Koepp (Richard), Katherine D. Toney (Billy), Karen D. Singeltary (Ray), John E. Drinkard, Jr. (Teri), Mark S. Drinkard (Kim), Janice D. Loup (Thomas) and David E. Drinkard (Dwana). She will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Cheryl was a graduate of Covington High School and attended Southeastern Louisiana University. She worked for many years in the Clerk of Court’s office in St. Tammany Parish and also did title research. Services for Cheryl will be at Bagnell and Son Funeral Home 75212 Lee Rd., Covington, La 70435 on Monday, September 19, 2016. Visitation will start at ten o’clock a.m. with services beginning at Twelve Noon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Cheryl’s memory to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
