Nancy Lee (Beegle) Lingenfelter, 86 years of age, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at her home in Covington, LA surrounded by her loving family.
She was the wife of the late Michael Irvin Lingenfelter for 67 years. Born in Altoona, PA, she was the only child of the late Harold and Thelma (Burleigh) Beegle. Nancy is survived by her children Robin Jackson (Steve), Susan Snelling (Mickey), Mark Lingenfelter (Jenny), and Tammy Conner, 7 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Michael, father Harold, and mother Thelma.
Nancy grew up in Hollidaysburg, PA and married her high school sweetheart, Michael, in 1957. While raising her children in State College, PA, she shared her musical talents with the congregation of Trinity Lutheran Church as their organist. Nancy was a lifelong fan of the Penn State football team and eventually joined the university working in the College of Liberal Arts. After the children were raised, Michael’s job took them to Irvine, CA where Nancy took on an important role with the University of California, Irvine assisting with the selection and admission of students to their medical school program. Nancy and her husband spent a few of their early retirement years in Katy, TX where she was recognized for her love of gardening by the local community. She later moved to Huntsville, AL to be closer to her children. Then finally making one last move to Covington, LA, following her children and grandchildren in her later years. “Nanny” as kindheartedly referred to by her grandchildren, was a talented pianist, always had a love for gardening, and enjoyed following the business news, stocks, and politics.
A celebration of Nancy’s life and the interment of ashes will take place at a future date in her hometown of Hollidaysburg, PA. Arrangements entrusted to Bagnell & Son Funeral Home of Covington, LA.
