Miriam Breecher Monjure, age 96, passed away October 15, 2017, surrounded by her family at Christwood Retirement Community in Covington, La. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Anthony J. Monjure III, her parents James J. Breecher and Augusta Hurst Breecher, and her sister Leonora Breecher Zeringue. She is survived by her loving family, including son Anthony J. Monjure IV, daughter-in-law Tammy Coble, daughter Darlene Monjure Delesdernier, grandson A.J. Monjure V, his fiancée Sonja Gowens, grandson Timothy M. Monjure, his wife Tracey Monjure, and great-grandson Tyler J. Monjure. Miriam graduated from McMain High School in New Orleans. During World War II, she volunteered in the Civil Air Patrol as an observer on the lower Mississippi River. She also worked as a debt counselor for Consumer Credit Counseling Service of New Orleans for more than 25 years. A graveside service and interment were held October 17, 2017 in Metairie Cemetery. Donations may be made in her memory to the Gulf Coast Doberman Rescue or the St. Tammany Humane Society. Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, Covington, LA in charge of Arrangements.
