Miriam Brinkman, aka Miriam Ragan, an artist on Jackson Square and a lifelong resident of New Orleans, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014 after a brief illness. She was a very young, fun loving, and vivacious 84 year old. Miriam is survived by her loving partner in life, Emro Kerul; her children: Cynthia Martin Garrett (David) and Barbara Giarrusso Torbett (Weldon), her son, Leon Brinkman, Jr.; her beloved grandchildren: Stacey Martin Romo (Sean), Ashli Martin King (Kelly), and Matthew Martin; Meagan Torbett Ely (Armand), Caitlin Torbett Apodaca (Matt); and Ryan Brinkman; as well as her loving great- grandchildren: Johnathan, Aaron and Nathan Romo; Garrett King, Kyler Pelton, and Anemaes Apodaca. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. There was a private memorial with her immediate family. Please take the time to sign her online guest book.
