MERCEDES SCHEXNAYDRE NAYLOR BROWN On December 2, 2017, our beloved mother Mercedes Schexnaydre Naylor Brown entered into eternal life. Born October 1, 1927 in New Orleans, Louisiana, daughter of Peter Alcide Schexnaydre and Victorine M. Sarazin Schexnaydre. She was a resident of Metairie until 1985 and then became a resident of Slidell, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her late first husband William E. Naylor and her second husband Andrew M. Brown. Last surviving sibling of 14 children Percy, Allen, Peter Jr., Nobel, Glynn, Gerald, Irby, Joseph Schexnaydre, Irene Perrin, Geraldine Rogers, Janet Schafer, Ethel and Maybel Schexnaydre. She was survived by her two children Michael C. Naylor (Donna Cambre) and Barbara N. Clausen (Tonito Sosa), two grandchildren Chad A. Clausen (Monica Clausen) and Lindsey N. Burlette (Scott, Sr,), and six great grandchildren Armand Clausen, Abegeal Clausen, Scott Burlette, Jr, Jacob Burlette, Molly Burlette, and Dreux Burlette. She was also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Slidell, LA on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Schexnaydre family tomb located at Greenwood Cemetery in New Orleans, LA. Special thanks to Greenbrier Nursing Home and St. Joseph Hospice, especially Amanda Starks for all their loving care. In lieu of flowers, masses preferred or donation to St. Jude.
