Melissa (Missy) Ann Sanamo began her journey of life in the spring of 1968, May 23 and was called home by her Lord Jesus Christ in the fall of 1017, October 24. Missy was the daughter of the union of Jjerry Felix Sanamo and Merelyn (Merl) Moran Sanamo. Her smile and laughter exuberated joy and happiness. Throughout her childhood years in Metairie, Louisiana, many lifelong memories and friendships were forged on Sibley Street. Folling graduation from East Jefferson High School, pursuing a degree in higher education was a goal Missy set for herself, which she achieved by earning a Bachelor’s Degree from Louisiana State University (LSUNO) in 2002. A love of family and loyalty to all in her many circles of friendships was rooted in Missy. With a birthright from Cajun French father and Italian mother, a life embraced with zest, enthusiasm and a desire to love and be loved couldn’t be helped. Missy was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry Felix Sanamo, Sr. and Merelyn Moran (Merl) Sanamo, and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Sanamo and Mr. and Mrs Frederick C. Moran, Jr. Missy is survived by her greatest accomplishment in life, her precious daughter, Marissa Rachael Prejean. Missy’s goal in life “to love and be loved”, was fulfilled on the day Marissa was born. Missy is also survived by Jerry Felix Sanamo, Jr., her only brother whom she loved dearly. Additionally, missy was blessed with two sisters, Shannon Sanamo and Stacey Sanamo. Tanya Prejean, sister in-law and also Godmother/ aunt to Missy’s daughter Marissa, and Michael Prejean, Marissa’s Father, mourn the absence of Missy in their day- to- day lives. Numerous aunts and uncles: Marie Dupont, Dolares Danos, Rose Gautreaux (Russell), John Sanamo (Jenny), Wesley Sanamo (Glanda), Cathy Allison, Mary Litton, Donna Holliday, Jennie Pippin (Bobby); Step-mother Joni Sanamo Doheny, along with numerous cousins, nephews one niece,,former coworkers and lifelong friends held a place in Missy’s heart and will forever hold her memory dear. Missy, your family and loved ones know you are flying with the angels. You will forever be loved and missed!
