Heaven received a very special angel. Melanie Correge Cutrera entered heaven after her yearlong battle with cancer, on Friday, September 19, 2014 at her daughter’s residence in Madisonville, LA, at the age of 61. Melanie was born in New Orleans, LA on Tuesday, June 30, 1953 to the late Regina Rousseau Correge and Melvin Correge. Beloved mother of Monica Cutrera Parker. Devoted and adoring grandmother of Zachary and Zoey Parker. Sister of Sally Fahm, Patricia Neal and the late Deborah Correge and Gail Black. Former wife of Leon Frank Cutrera. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Melanie expressed a deep love for her family and friends. She thoroughly enjoyed gardening, quilting and ceramics. She was a dedicated employee of The Brinson Company, Inc, Laitram Lane, Harahan, LA for over 25 years.
Melanie worked at the World’s Fair in New Orleans in 1984. She loved life, enjoyed meeting people from all over the world, made lifelong friends, and truly touched many lives with her larger than life personality. Her presence could light up a room just by entering it. The world will be a much quieter place without her. She will be deeply missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Northwood Church, 5200 Highway 22, Mandeville, LA 70471 on Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Refreshments will follow the service.
