Maxine Frances Henning of Covington, Louisiana passed away at the age of 94 on Saturday, April 20, 2024.
Maxine was born in Michigan to Raymond William Gagnon and Frances Jean Chutter. She was married to the love of her life, Jackson Henning for over 50 years. They have two sons, Mark (Becky) and Tim (Patty). She leaves behind her two sons, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren to cherish her memories.
She is the last of the Gagnon clan, being pre-deceased by her five siblings; Rita DeWys, William Gagnon, Audrey Lienert, Mary Gagnon and Tom Gagnon.
Maxine loved New Orleans and was very active in the hospitality industry, working as the reservations manager at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel. Because of her years of involvement and President of the Newcomers Club she was presented with the keys to the city by Mayor Vic Schiro. She loved meeting people from all over the world and ensuring they had a wonderful time in New Orleans. She was a member of the Krewe of Neophermenos and the Krewe of Iris.
She became a real estate agent with Stan Weber & Associates and later obtained her broker's license with Latter & Blum with whom she sold real estate for over 40 years.
She also loved to play bridge and was an active member of the Duplicate Bridge Club.
There will be a service for her at Most Holy Trinity Church on Tuesday, May 14, with visitation starting at 12:30 pm, the mass will follow (1:20 pm) and there will be a reception in the church hall immediately following the mass.
