Maurice Bertoniere

We mournfully announce the passing of Maurice Bertoniere, 75, of Bucktown, LA. He peacefully passed away on February 4, 2021 surrounded by loved ones, after a difficult battle with Cancer. Maurice was born on May 12, 1945 to Rene and Anna Bertoniere in New Orleans, LA. Maurice was a jack of all trades but spent the most of his life working as a commercial fisherman in Bucktown, LA. In, 1969 he married the love of his life Mary Saccaro. Maurice and Mary went on to have two children Maurice “Rece” Bertoniere and Michelle “Mimi” Bertoniere Canas. Maurice retired in 2006. While retired, Maurice had time to pursue gardening, playing pool, and working on his house. Maurice was predeceased by his parents Rene and Anna Bertoniere, and his siblings, Rene Jr., John, Marilyn, and Sylvia. He is survived by his loving wife Mary, his son Maurice “Rece” his daughter-in-law Tina, his daughter Michelle “Mimi”, his son-in-law Felipe, his grandchildren Victoria, River, Reece, Isabella, Kyle, Alejandro, Kasey, his brother August Bertoniere, his sisterin-law Christle, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 1:00 p.m in the Chapel of  Bagnell and Sons Funeral Home, 75212 Lee Rd., Covington, LA 70435 with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
