She was born in Evergreen, Alabama on Good Friday, April 15, 1927, died on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, Louisiana of natural causes. Preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Samuel Nobles. The youngest of 12 children, she was preceded in death by her 4 sisters and 7 brothers. Survived by her daughter, Linda Y. Berg (Ronnie), her granddaughters, Emily B. Patin (Sean) and Nancy L. Berg, and her great-granddaughter, Caroline E. Patin and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was affectionately called “MeMaw” by everyone. She loved and was loved by her family and will be greatly missed. She moved to the Northshore in 2005 from New Orleans, LA. She was a resident of Pontchartrain Healthcare Center in Mandeville, Louisiana for several months before her death. Before she became ill, she resided at Rouquette Lodge in Mandeville, Louisiana. She retired after 25 years from Lykes Bros. Steamship Company in New Orleans, LA., where she was an Executive Assistant in the Traffic Department. She retired after 10 years from the Medical Records Department of Ochsner Hospital in Jefferson, Louisiana. She enjoyed cooking, reading, watching her soap operas and her favorite football teams: The New Orleans Saints and LSU. A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 505 Pine Street, Madisonville, LA. 70447 with visitation from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM and a “Liturgy of the Word” at 10:00 AM. A Graveside Service will be held at approximately Noon at Lakelawn Park Mausoleum in Metairie, LA. Celebrant for the Services will be Deacon Jack Glover of St. Anselm Catholic Church, Madisonville, LA.
