Mary Ray Carlsen

Mary Ray Carlsen, a native of Gretna, Louisiana, passed away in her home in Harvey on September 30, 2024 at the age of 83. 

With many opportunities to travel around the world, Mary always had fun and lived life to the fullest. She was the life of the party, ready to belt show tunes with her favorite martini in hand. She cared deeply for those around her and had a big heart hidden behind her strong personality. Mary will be dearly missed by all who knew her. 

Mary leaves behind her cherished memories to her son-in-law Joseph Ditolla; granddaughter, Dominique (John) Misoyianis; great-granddaughter, Molly Bella; as well as many other family members and life long friends. 

She is preceded in death by her husband James Carlsen; daughter, Katherine Ditolla; parents, John and Nora Sisung Ray; siblings, John Ray, Nora Clancy, Stanley Ray, and Geraldine Ramsey. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
