Martha Hanneman Jones

September 26, 1931 — February 6, 2025

Folsom, Louisiana

Martha Hanneman Jones was born on September 26, 1931, in St. Joseph, Missouri. She passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025, in Slidell, Louisiana, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and service.

A long-time active member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church, Martha was known for her vibrant spirit and passion for music. Together with her late husband, Jack B. Jones, who preceded her in death in 1992, she shared her love for singing as they joyfully participated in the church choir. Their harmonies were not only a testament to their love but also enriched the lives of many who had the pleasure of hearing them.

Martha was a devoted mother to her daughters Laura Armstrong and Connie Schmidt, along with her husband Brian, and her son Chris Jones and his wife Jackie. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished her role as a grandmother to Chad Armstrong (Kate), Austin Jones, and Callie Staley (Charlie). The light of her life shone brightly through her five great-granddaughters, who brought her immense happiness.

She was the cherished daughter of the late Elmer Lee "Dick" Hanneman and Hazel Adelia Cowgill Hanneman, and she is mourned by all whose lives she touched. Martha is also preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Dierking, as well as her son-in-law, Paul Armstrong.

Martha Hanneman Jones will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her inviting spirit, and her commitment to her family and community. She leaves behind a beautiful tapestry of memories, love, and devotion that will continue to inspire those who knew her.

Internment will take place in Forsyth, Missouri at a later date.
