Mark Timothy Knight of Slidell, Louisiana, born on October 7, 1968, passed away peacefully to eternal rest on December 8, 2032. He was a long time cook and team member since 2014 at Waffle House in Eden Isles and loved his job. He was the happiest guy, a loving and devoted father to all of his children, Ashley Paredes, Candice Paredes, Lola Knight, Kayla Knight and Savannah (Nanny Goat) Knight. He also leaves behind to cherish his loving memories, his grandchildren Jaylan Paredes, Auroa Ely and Rae-Lynne O’Bryant, and survived by Ann Paredes Knight and long-time companion Lynn-Dee Gillam.
Mark was also survived by his father Reginald Knight, Jr., mother Barbara Knight-Smith, step-father Dennis Ball, his siblings; Lisa Knight Bryan, Ryan Knight and Brennan Hall. His grandfather Knot (L.W.) Farrington, several aunts, uncles and cousins. Including his Waffle House Family (Michelle), Mikayla, Monica, Jason, Chayanne, Julia, Jeremy, Shane and many others. Mark also leaves behind his god-child Arion Hill.
Mark was the sweetest, kindest soul with a heart bigger than the sky!! He was always telling jokes, always smiling, and never had a complaint. He worked very hard and very long hours to care for everyone around him. Mark helped anyone anyway he could, never asking for anything in return. He was an avid Saints fan, a true WHO DAT!!! He loved W.W.F. wrestling, Mark loved Mardi Grasso much, never missing an opportunity to attend a parade, yet never missing Fat Tuesday, his favorite time of the year. He loved fishing and taking his girls to Café Du Monde. He would give anyone the shirt off his back, even if he had to go without one! He loved his animals, Po-Boy, Henry and Buddy his ferret. His favorite sayings were chicken butt, suck it up buttercup, and Whatever PAL!! He loved to say no speaking at work, it made everyone laugh.
Mark will be truly missed by his family and friends. We will miss his smile, sense of humor, and his goofy internet jokes. He was an Angel on this earth, Heaven is blessed to have him. Mark’s last joke and favorite line when he would answer the phone was, Lamana-Panno-Fallo, You Slay Em’ We Lay Em!
