Mark David Bascle Sr.

Mark David Bascle Sr, a resident of Madisonville, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on
Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the age of 66. He was surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Mark was born in New Orleans on October 18, 1956 to Donald Louis Bascle and Lois Erminnie
Bradley. He was also loved beyond measure by Harry Stafford Williams and Rose Nelson
Williams, whom he fondly called mom and dad.
For over two decades, Mark served the people of Louisiana with honor as a dedicated member
of the Louisiana State Police. His tenure of service showcased his exceptional ability to remain
composed amidst chaos and to bring people together, even in the most challenging
circumstances. After retiring from the Louisiana State Police as a Lieutenant, Mark's journey
continued in the Louisiana Film Industry, where as a Teamster, he worked with many esteemed
actors such as Tom Cruise, Gerard Butler, Samuel L. Jackson, Sylvester Stallone, and many
more.
Mark's presence was a gift he shared willingly, both within his professional and personal life.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, integrity, and an indelible mark on the hearts of
all who knew him. Mark's life was defined by his unwavering commitment to his family, his
community, and his lifelong service to others.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mark's heart truly belonged to his beloved family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kellie Bascle; his children, Mark David Bascle Jr. (Denise
Pecot Bascle), Brad Michael Bascle, and Brooke Bascle Waters (Grant Logan Waters); his
grandchildren, Bryce Nicholas Bascle, Blake William Bascle, Isabella Rose Bascle, Riley
Addison McCarthy, Blake Buchanan McCarthy, Jordan Channey Reno, Henry Everett Waters,
Ella Grace Waters, Logan James Waters, and Brad Michael Bascle Jr; former spouse, Melissa
Williams Bascle; siblings, Donald Bascle Jr and Joan Bascle Saucier (Brian Douglas Saucier
Sr). Preceded in death by his parents Donald Louis Bascle and Lois Erminnie Bradley; sibling
Gary Bascle.
Mark’s family was his pride and joy. He reveled in their achievements and provided unwavering
support in their endeavors. Their laughter and love brought immeasurable joy to his life. Mark's
commitment to family was evident through his traditions, like the cherished "Bascle Family Fun
Night," where he fostered unity, love, and shared memories.
Mark leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his legacy will continue to inspire generations to
come. His life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and service. As we remember
his enduring smile, infectious laugh and compassionate soul, we find comfort in the knowledge
that his spirit lives on in the lives he touched.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023 from 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Maison
Lafitte in Mandeville, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be
made in Mark's memory to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Covington.
