Marjorie Francipane

Marjorie Tibo Francipane, age 85, of Covington, passed away early Saturday, July 26, 2014. A daughter of the late Jessie Tibo and Gertrude Carpentier then later remarried John Besson Furlong.  Marjorie was born October 18, 1928 in New Orleans. She graduated from Chicora High School in North Charleston, South Carolina and furthered her education.  In February of 1951, Marjorie married the love of her life Joseph Vincent Francipane from New Orleans. Together they would have 3 children. Her last 33 years, she and her husband resided in Gretna and then later in Covington.  She was a Board member of  Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO)  Chapter A.V., President of the Lady Volunteers of Mary Immaculate Hospital of Newport News, Virginia. She will be missed by her 3 children, Stanley (Nell) Francipane and their children (Jessica and Natalie) of Terrytown, Louisiana Kathrine (William) Thomas and their children (William, Krisanne and Lauren) from Oakland, Michigan and Terrance (Tammy) Francipane and their children (Kevin and Cory) of Diamondhead, Mississippi and 5 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brother John Furlong from Gretna and her sister Ruth (Tom) Neely of Covington. She is survived by her sisters Patricia (William) Groves of Hanahan, South Carolina and Leilia (Harris) Smith and sister–in-law Clara Furlong with many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service in the chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, 75212 Lee Road, Covington, Louisiana on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 11:00 am.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 am until service time.
